Talk: Seeing the Living Photos of Sri Ramakrishna

Unlocking the mysteries of Sri Ramakrishna’s photos.

There are three actual photographs of Sri Ramakrishna, when he was alive. During 1800, there were no camera phones to snap pictures with. It took quite a lot of effort with film and lighting and setup to take a photograph. Only one of the three photos of Thakur were studio pictures. The other two show him in samadhi and a standing trance. This talk by Swami Harinamananda beautifully describes the stories behind these photographs and their spiritual meaning.

Note: We regret we are unable to provide the audio from Swami Harinamananda-ji’s talk. So, in lieu of that, here is the same talk given at the Vedanta Society of Southern California’s Santa Barbara Temple on April 29, 2018.
