11am 1st Saturday Chandi Chanting (Sanskrit)

Please do consider Sanskrit chanting of hymns in praise of Devi the first Saturday of each month.  No experience needed. Led by Rita Bhandarkar Mathew.

Mother Goddess in her forms of Mahakali, Mahalaxmi, and Mahasarasvati will be invoked as we proceed in cleansing panch kleshas from the gross to the subtle manifestations of body, mind and intellect.

In his preface to the English translation Swami Jagadisvarananda writes, “cantos I, IV, V and XI are so sweet and sublime that they should, if possible, be chanted in the original”.  Specific verses from these cantos have also been recommended by Swami Sarvadevanandaji.

Rg Vedic hymn by Rishika VagAmbhrini will be sung in conclusion.
